Making a Difference: MIOC’s Annual Christmas Fair

The annual Christmas fair at MIOC took place on December 11th. Organized with the aim of supporting those in need, this year’s event raised a significant amount of money, all of which has been donated to charitable organizations.

Among the beneficiaries of the funds are Caritas’ House “Emaus,” which supports children without adequate parental care; UNICEF, an organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to children worldwide; the General Hospital in Nova Gradiška; and other local charities. The fair showcased the generosity and dedication of students, staff, and visitors, emphasizing the importance of giving.

The Christmas fair and the raffle were a success and displayed  the creativity, collaboration and activism made by the MIOC and IB students. All projects completed by the IB students demonstrated a significant amount of unity and cooperation as students from all year groups contributed greatly. Even more so, since the school managed to raise even greater funds than before, these changes emphasize the school’s dedication to social work. Out of all IB grades, the 3rd graders managed to raise the greatest amount of money; however, the entire IB contributed greatly toward donating to these charities.

MIOC’s Christmas fair is held every December, and features a variety of stalls offering handmade crafts, baked goods, and unique items created by students. Next year, students should aim to raise even more money and are therefore encouraged to participate as buyers and/or sellers, contributing their creativity, effort, and generosity to continue this impactful tradition and make an even greater difference in the community.
