The English Language Summer School is a summer school located in the Plus London Uxbridge campus or the Brunel University London for ages from 10 to 17. PLUS London Uxbridge School is in the west of London, within the university campus, which has been renovated. This school is ideal for younger students because everything is located within the campus, which is closed. There is a student restaurant on the campus where all meals are served. The summer school runs from July 1st to 15th, 2025 and would cost 3,500.00 euros for reservations made by January 14th, 2025. However, for any reservations made after said date, the cost of the summer school will change to a cost of 3,700.00 euros. Students have access to a laundry room, a cafe, an ATM, and a shop. Classes are held in modern classrooms equipped with the latest technology. Students have free Wi-Fi access on campus. The campus has an indoor hall, a dance studio, outdoor sports fields, tennis courts, a rugby field, and a football field. During their stay, trips to London, Oxford, and Cambridge are organized.
On the first day of classes, students are divided into groups according to their level of English proficiency. Furthermore, the groups are made up of 15 to 20 students. They are usually placed with students from another language area, so that they can communicate in English as much as possible (if a student feels that they cannot follow the classes or that their knowledge is greater, they must immediately inform the instructor who will find a satisfactory solution).
Student accommodation is organized in student dormitories in single rooms with private bathrooms. Inside the residence there is a shared living room and kitchenette. Be sure to read the house rules and conditions of non-compliance in detail. Payment of a damage deposit is mandatory upon arrival at the school, and the deposit is returned upon departure if no damage has been caused. Each student is required to comply with the school’s rules of conduct. Any failure to comply with the code of conduct may result in a verbal or written warning or removal from the school program. In the event of expulsion of a student for violating school rules, he or she must leave the institution at his or her own expense.
In addition, the first meal upon arrival is dinner in the residence. Meals are organized on a full board basis – breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are served in the canteen within the campus or in traditional restaurants with a choice of dishes. During daily excursions, participants will receive a lunch package. The food is international in accordance with the rules of student nutrition in the country of residence and the school itself provides the use of books and teaching materials that can be purchased at the school. It is recommended that participants bring their own small dictionary, grammar book, notebook and writing utensils.
Finally, activities during the two weeks of the summer school include: A picture hunt, a film evening, a music quiz, a newspaper fashion show, an international evening, a quiz night, a karaoke evening, a disco evening, a treasure hunt, a flag capture, a graduation and farewell disco. There are also eight full-day excursions, six of which are in London: The National Gallery, the British Museum, the Science Museum, a Hop on/hop off bus tour, the London Eye, a Thames River Cruise, HMS Belfast – the most powerful warship on the Thames and Madame Tussauds. The other two full-day excursions take place in Oxford and Cambridge.
